Omaha
Impressive and inspiring.
Well, for about a month I had realized the goal of producing a weekly video show for our Absolute Michigan web site. Along the way I learned a couple of things including the fact that video is very time consuming! The pressures of work and having a life outside of it conspired to temporarily (I hope) cancel the show.
You can see the other episodes on Absolute Michigan’s Michigan Video Page including this week’s episode featuring a song from Brian Vander Ark’s forthcoming CD.
Confession: I seldom watch TV unless it’s sports or the Daily Show.
While hunting for a Piston game the other night, I happened to catch a pre-caucus speech by Barack Obama. As Obama was driving home the point that there’s something inherently wrong with a child starving to death anytime, anywhere, they were panning from audience member to audience member. On one face after the other, I saw Obama’s measured outrage writing itself across the faces of the small audience.
For the first time in a long time it felt like real change might be possible, a change beyond the quadrennial change of clothes that the Presidential elections in my lifetime have been. I think we can at least be certain the commercials will be better.
This photo of Senator Barack Obama in Detroit was taken at the Detroit Athletic Club in May 2007 by Radiospike. It’s part of his Barack Obama set of photos. You can check out his photos at Flickr and at Radiospike.com - just be sure to see them somewhere.
